APS at the 2007 Adelitas Conference

Mission Statement:
The mission of the Adelitas Conference is to promote higher education, cultural pride, and self-worth. We hope to inspire young Latinas to search deep within themselves to overcome social, economic, and familial barriers. We envision a gathering of young strong female minds who will not only aspire success but also attain it.

Adelitas Definition:
During the 1910 Mexican Revolution, Las Adelitas were mujeres who risked their lives along with the soldiers in the civil war fighting for political, social and economic equality. Today, the spirit of Las Adelitas lives on through a new generation of women who continue the pursuit of education, leadership, equality and social justice. Que Viva La Mujer!
